We select stones for clean Santa Maria and deep sea-water hues, not the pale near-colourless commercial grades.
Aquamarine has a Mohs hardness of 7.5 to 8, which makes it safe for daily wear in rings, earrings, and pendants. Larger stones, twenty carats and above, are reserved for statement cocktail pieces and bespoke commissions where the proportions of the stone dictate the design.
