Valeriy Gromov

Conceptual Jeweler

Valeriy Gromov is a conceptual jeweler with more than fifteen years in the craft. He works outside the logic of mass production - one bench, one stone at a time, at an output capped at roughly one piece per week. The result is GROMOV: a studio of one-of-one objects that merge sculptural geometry, rare stones, and material honesty.

Fifteen-plus years at the bench. Works primarily in palladium white gold. Caps output at roughly one piece per week. Accepts bespoke commissions by referral and direct inquiry.

The GROMOV name is not a marketing label. It is a working signature. Every finished piece leaves the bench only when Valeriy signs off on it - form, stone, alloy, finish, and engineering. Nothing is outsourced to external workshops. Nothing is produced in batches. The pieces you see are the pieces that exist.

How GROMOV Became GROMOV

Valeriy trained in traditional goldsmithing before drifting toward contemporary forms. The conventional jewelry world - tray after tray of near-identical solitaires, recycled templates, brands selling the same ten silhouettes under different names - felt like a closed loop. The interesting work was happening at the margins: sculptors who happened to work in gold, designers who treated a ring as architecture, craftsmen who refused to hide the structural thinking behind a piece.

He built GROMOV around that instinct. Each design starts with a stone or a form, not with a market segment. The question is never "what will sell?" but "what does this stone want to become?" Some pieces take months. A few take a year. The ones that fail never leave the bench.

Material Honesty

GROMOV has worked with palladium white gold for over fifteen years - long before it became a talking point. The reason is simple: it is the right alloy. Palladium replaces nickel entirely, which eliminates the contact allergies that affect roughly one in ten adults. It is harder than platinum. It is naturally white without rhodium plating that wears off. Most fine jewelers avoid it because it is expensive to source and demands different workshop techniques. GROMOV uses it because a ring worn every day for a lifetime deserves metal that is actually fit for that job.

The same discipline applies to stones. Every diamond and coloured stone is sourced with full traceability on request. There is no secrecy, no pressure, no scripted upsell. The client chooses with full information.

The Studio Principles

One of One

Each piece exists as a single exemplar. No serial production. No "limited editions" of fifty. The diamond you see is the diamond you own.

Capped Output

Roughly one piece per week leaves the studio. The cap is not scarcity marketing - it is the maximum volume at which every surface can still be finished by the same pair of hands.

Design Before Decoration

Meaning lives in silhouette, weight, and proportion. Ornament is earned, not applied. A quiet ring with the right geometry outlasts a loud one with a surface full of stones.

Transparent Sourcing

Responsibly sourced palladium white gold and 18k yellow gold. Traceability on every stone on request. If a jeweler cannot answer sourcing questions clearly, assume the answer is the one they do not want to give.

Sculpture That Lives With You

We believe that fine art should not be confined to a safe. Every GROMOV piece is a miniature sculpture designed to inspire you daily. Despite their bold architectural forms, our designs are guided by strict ergonomics—featuring balanced weight distribution and comfort-fit interiors. It is wearable art that delights the eye every day, moving with you effortlessly rather than acting as a fragile museum piece.

Bespoke Commissions

A significant share of GROMOV's output is bespoke - pieces commissioned directly by collectors, couples, and private clients. The process begins with a conversation: what the piece needs to do, what it needs to mean, and what already exists in your collection. From there, stone selection, design iteration, and fabrication all happen in-house.

Most clients come through referral. Many return for second and third commissions. The repeat rate is the clearest honest metric we have - it tells us whether what we made last year still felt right this year.

Where GROMOV Works

Valeriy works across continents through the year - the studio moves with the seasons, the clients, and the commissions. Private viewings for established collectors happen in person, wherever Valeriy is based at the time. These are quiet sessions - usually just the client, the pieces in hand, and an unhurried conversation about what comes next.

GROMOV pieces are worn in private collections on multiple continents. They appear at galleries and the occasional concept store that shares our language. The studio ships worldwide with fully insured tracked delivery.

What GROMOV is not: a franchise, a boutique chain, a celebrity collaboration. There are no licensed copies. There is no global roll-out. There is one bench, one signature, and a body of work that gets larger by one piece most weeks.

Background & Recognition

Valeriy Gromov was born in 1978 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Valeriy grew up surrounded by art and sculpture workshops in the historic Podil district of Kyiv. An independent thinker from a young age, his early attempts at formal art education clashed with traditional institutions—he was rejected from art school in the fourth grade for his unorthodox approach. Instead, he forged his own path, starting work as a designer at a publishing company in the ninth grade. By 18, he was an Art Director, and at 24, he became the Creative Director of an international agency. After years of creating successful brands for others, he channeled his sculptural influences and design expertise into establishing his own fine jewelry atelier. He produced his first jewelry pieces in 2010 and debuted his designer collection internationally at VicenzaOro (Italy) in 2019. In 2025 his ring “Core Circuit” was selected for the Artistar Jewels Book and exhibition in Milan.
